“J.D. Lewis was a stalwart of our community, a broadcasting pioneer, a civil rights leader, and mentor to thousands. I’m reminded that he also represents what’s called the ‘Greatest Generation’ as a Montfort Point Marine…but he was more than that. All of broadcasting – no, all of society – owes him a debt of gratitude for the good aspects of what we do…and the wonderful progress we have made…that is his legacy.” – WRAL-TV Director/Producer Clarence Williams |
