Coach Bubba Race To Support American Tobacco Trail Race Begins & Ends Near Durham Bulls & American Tobacco |
This Saturday temperatures will be on the warm side for this time of year – the perfect day for a good run. In downtown Durham, just outside the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and the American Tobacco Campus, the third annual Coach Bubba 20km and 4 Mile Road Races will kick-off with all proceeds to benefit the American Tobacco Trail.
The four-mile race will begin at 8:20am and the 20km start will follow at 8:30am. It’s not too late to register. On-site registration will be available on the morning of the race, Saturday, February 24, 2007, from 6:45-8am.
Race organizers are hoping to attract up to 1,000 runners this year. The race will begin in downtown Durham near the ballpark, wind through the Forest Hills neighborhood and then continue along the American Tobacco Trail. The race will end at the ATT trailhead along Blackwell Street, within view of the landmark “Lucky Strike” water tower and the ballpark.
The Carolina Godiva Track Club presents the annual event in memory of Bruce “Coach Bubba” Koenig, who made many contributions to the running community.
