|Parking Deck $6M Approval To Help CBC Provide More Spaces in Downtown Durham|
The Durham County Commissioners voted to give Capitol Broadcasting Company a $6.1 incentive to build a public parking deck adjacent to the American Tobacco Campus and Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Monday, March 26, 2007. The deck will hold 441 parking spaces, providing parking for American Tobacco, Diamond View II, and a future performing arts center and should be completed by April 2008 at the latest.
“I thought the [American Tobacco] project would transform Durham into a destination. Frankly, I think it’s done just that. American Tobacco has just ignited interest in downtown Durham. It has just changed the face.”
Durham County Manager Mike Ruffin, as quoted in the Herald-Sun
