DBAP Named PETA’s Most Vegetarian Friendly Minor League Ballpark
|
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) recently announced the Durham Bulls Athletic Park was their 2007 Most Vegetarian-Friendly Minor League Ballpark in recognition of the extensive vegetarian menu at Durham Bulls games.
“Animal-friendly and health-conscious fans in The Triangle can enjoy the best vegetarian food in all of Minor League Baseball,” says PETA Assistant Director Dan Shannon. “DBAP’s great vegetarian selection benefits animals and the health of fans.”
The Bulls offer a vegetarian menu that includes veggie hot dogs and hamburgers, vegetarian burritos from the Flying Burrito and fresh chopped salads from Green Tango at Durham Bulls games.
“We’ve made a conscious effort to improve our healthy offerings over the years at the ballpark,” Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said, “It’s an honor to be the inaugural winner of this award. We thank PETA for the recognition.”
