Santa Claus Is Coming To Town…Soon! Mark Your Calendar for the WRAL-TV Raleigh Christmas Parade |
Santa Claus is always the happy ending to the WRAL-TV Raleigh Christmas Parade…officially bringing the holiday season to Raleigh. |
Don’t miss the excitement of the 2007 WRAL-TV Raleigh Christmas Parade – the largest parade between Atlanta and New York.
Approximately 60,000 people will line the streets in downtown Raleigh on Sat., Nov. 17, which begins at 9:30am.
Mark Roberts will make his return as street-side producer, while WRAL-TV morning news personalities Bill Leslie and Lynda Loveland host the parade. The Greater Raleigh Merchants’ Association presents the parade.
Children of all ages love the festive floats of the parade. |
Now in its 63nd year, the parade will feature dozens of bands, fantastic floats, super-sized balloons, marchers, twirlers, entertainers and a special surprise at the end of the parade. WinterFest, a family fun-filled celebration, will immediately follow the parade in Moore Square Park from 11:30am until 3 pm.
The 1.2-mile parade route ( PDF 1.3Mb) starts at Hillsborough and St. Mary’s Street. The parade travels east on Hillsborough Street, turns south at the Capitol on Salisbury Street, east on Morgan and then makes a final turn onto Fayetteville Street.
WRAL-TV captures the parade action for viewers at home & for parade goers to relive on Christmas Day. |
For 34rd year, WRAL will air the parade, starting at 10am. It will be in High Definition on WRAL-DT and streamed live on WRAL.com. Eight camera positions will be used in WRAL’s broadcast, including aerial shots from the Sky 5 Helicopter.
The station will also replay the parade broadcast during December on the WRAL NewsChannel, in addition to a special holiday presentation on WRAL-TV/WRAL-DT at 4 pm on Christmas Day.
Thanks to WRAL-TV for this capcom story.
