On Monday, November 5, 2007, CBS 10 WILM announced that all WRAL newscasts seen on WILM-TV are now also being shown in the High Definition (HD) format on Wilmington area cable systems including channel 914 on both Time Warner and Atlantic Telephone Membership Corporation cable systems.
“We are thrilled to be able to present WRAL News in HD to the Wilmington market” said Constance H. Knox, Station Manager for WILM-TV. “WRAL News was the first newscasts in the nation to be produced in High Definition. It’s very impressive. The clarity of the picture and sound add to an already excellent newscast.” said Knox.
WILM began carrying WRAL Newscasts in “standard definition” in March of 2000 when the station first signed on as Wilmington’s CBS affiliate. While WRAL News in High Definition is new to Wilmington, WILM-TV has been presenting all CBS Network HD programming for a while on the local cable systems.
Thanks to WILM’s Connie Knox for this capcom story.
