19th Annual Coats for Children Telethon Needs Your Donation to Help Keep Triangle Kids Warm |
WRAL-TV will take to the airwaves to raise money and collect coats to keep needy children in the Triangle warm on Friday, December 14, 2007. Volunteers will answer phones all day in the WRAL-TV studios for the 19th Annual Coats for the Children Telethon.
The daylong telethon will raise money to buy new, warm winter clothing and undergarments for area children in need. Telethon operators will accept pledges from 6:00am until 8pm.
Cut-ins during all the WRAL newscasts will keep viewers updated on the progress of the telethon, and two half-hour specials at 12:30pm and 7pm will provide a special window into the event. For the first time WRAL-TV will also be live at American Tobacco in downtown Durham during the 12:30pm special.

Donations will not only help outfit children with the warm clothes they need this winter, viewers who call in pledges will have a chance to get special incentives themselves. Several copies of WRAL-TV Anchor Bill Leslie’s holiday CD “Christmas in Carolina” will be up for grabs, as well as tickets to a variety of events and a behind the scenes tour at WRAL-TV with Debra Morgan. So tune in to WRAL-TV to make your pledge possibly earn one of these special “thank you” gifts.
Every penny contributed goes to the Salvation Army to help them buy new winter clothing for children in need. $85 will outfit a child for the winter, so make a call today, Friday, Dec 14th to (919) 755-1434 or 1-877-543-2628 or make your donation online at WRAL.com. Make this winter a little warmer for some Triangle children.
