Bulls Launch Montoyo Family Fund
|
The Bulls have set up a fund to help Manager Charlie Montoyo with the mounting bills for his young son Alex who has been in the hospital since his birth in October. |
In an effort to help relieve the financial burden Durham Bulls Manager Charlie Montoyo and his family are shouldering for the care of their newborn son, Alexander, the Durham Bulls announced on Monday, January 7, 2008, the Montoyo Family Fund has been activated.
Alexander was born with Ebsteins Anomaly, a heart defect in which the tricuspid valve is abnormally formed. He hasn’t left the hospital since he was born on October 17th.
“Charlie and his family are going through an unimaginable experience as they watch Alexander fight for his life every day,” Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said. “I know the Durham Bulls extended family will help us alleviate some of the financial pressure Alexander’s treatment is requiring.”
The Bulls will match up to $10,000 in the Montoyo Family Fund, which is open from now until February 14th. To donate, go to www.durhambulls.com and click on the Montoyo Family Fund link or call 919-687-6555.
