FOX 50 To Air Durham Documentary on Sunday Broadcast Premiere of Durham: A Self-Portrait
|
FOX 50 will air the premiere television broadcast of a documentary about Durham this weekend. FOX 50 will air “Durham: A Self-Portrait” on Sunday, April 13, 2008, at 5pm. The presentation will be offered with limited commercial interruptions thanks to the sponsorships of GlaxoSmithKline and Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Over four years in the making, with more than 70 interviews, “Durham: A Self-Portrait” traces the beginnings of “the Bull City” through its many individuals and companies. The documentary is a compelling and important program suitable for the entire family.
The Southern Documentary Fund, a local non-profit organization, sponsored the creation of this reflection on Durham’s history. Filmmaker & historian Dr. Steven Channing produced the film, which became the basis for FOX 50’s Black History month in February.
An interview with Channing will air immediately following the program.
