My Local TV Now Available on Verizon Wireless’ V CAST Video Channel Delivers Local News from TV Stations Across the Country
|
News Over Wireless and Verizon Wireless announce the launch of My Local TV on V CAST. The video channel delivers local news and weather from television stations across the United States. Through My Local TV, V CAST subscribers may now access more than 1,000 daily news, weather and sports videos from local TV stations.
Jennifer Byrne, director of V CAST video and social media for Verizon, said, “Verizon Wireless customers want to stay connected to what’s going on while on-the-go and the addition of My Local TV News to V CAST Video helps them stay up-to-date with local news, sports, and more.”
With V CAST Video, customers can get video content on demand, including news, weather and sports updates, clips from popular TV programs, music videos, movie trailers, 3D games and more. V CAST Video subscribers can access My Local TV by selecting “News,” then “My Local TV News.” From there, users will select their U.S. region and city, then the individual station.
“The local news, weather and sports coverage that My Local TV provides is perfect for the V CAST platform. It gives users access to the information they need and use every day, directly from the local stations they know and trust. We are delighted to make our content available on such a dynamic platform,” said Sam Matheny, General Manager of News Over Wireless.
To date, News Over Wireless has partnered with more than 80 TV stations to deliver local TV news content, formatted for mobile phones. Station partners include CBS, ABC, NBC and FOX affiliates, and reach almost 70 percent of the total US market.
