CBC Earns Second Fit-Friendly Designation
Capitol Broadcasting is once again on the American Heart Association’s list of Fit-Friendly companies. CBC received a second Gold level designation at the Triangle AHA’s CEO Breakfast on Friday, May 9, 2008, at the Umstead Hotel & Spa in Cary.
CBC VP of Community Relations Paul Pope accepted the honor on behalf of the company.
The AHA uses the Start! Fit-Friendly program to “recognize employers who champion the health of their employees and work to create a culture of physical activity in the workplace.”
CBC won the designation for its health & wellness program Be Active CBC as well as the company’s annual Health Fair, First Responders program and other workplace health initiatives.
The AHA awards the Fit-Friendly designation annually. CBC first achieved the Gold standard last summer in July 2007. The current Fit-Friendly status is good for one year.
