CBS 10 WILM has begun broadcasting a new locally produced community interest program, “BYLINE: WILMINGTON with Donn Ansell”, which explores with different guests each week the issues and politics that are important to the Wilmington-area community.
In the first episode seen on Sunday, June 29th, “BYLINE: WILMINGTON” featured guest Jason Thompson discussing issues he faces on the Wilmington City Counsel and those he feels are of interest to New Hanover County citizens as he prepares to seek one of three County Commission seats in the November election.

In the second “BYLINE: WILMINGTON” broadcast (on Sunday, July 6th at 11am), author, historian and retired Captain Wilbur Jones talked with Ansell about Wilmington during the WWII era and made an announcement about the recognition the City of Wilmington is about to receive regarding its role during World War II.
“BYLINE: WILMINGTON” host Donn Ansell has had a long and successful career in radio and television. Ansell grew up at the Jersey shore in Asbury Park, New Jersey and, after college, moved to NYC to pursue a career in television at CBS-TV where he worked as a Unit Manager on such legendary shows as “The Ed Sullivan Show”, “To Tell the Truth”, “What’s My Line”, “60 Minutes” and “Captain Kangaroo”.

After moving to Wilmington, Ansell helped to pioneer Talk Radio in the market as host and producer of WAAV Radio’s morning news magazine “Talk of the Town” for twenty-two years. While today Ansell is kept busy as host of the new CBS 10 WILM weekly interview program “BYLINE: WILMINGTON”, his greatest delights are still his daughter, 6- year-old granddaughter & 4-year-old grandson.

When asked about the new show Ansell remarked “Taking on a new challenge with such a supportive and creative group of professionals, in the community I love…………..it doesn’t get much better than this!”
“We are just thrilled to have Donn host our new show,” said Constance H. Knox, WILM Station Manager. “When I was thinking of who I could get to moderate ‘BYLINE: WILMINGTON,’ Donn was the first person that came to my mind. It’s a perfect match. He just loves this stuff.”
WILM-TV will air fresh episodes every week of the year.
“These will be timely topics and issues that are important to the residents of the Lower Cape Fear region,” Knox continued.
“BYLINE: WILMINGTON” will air on CBS 10 WILM each Sunday morning at 11am following “Face the Nation and CBS Sunday Morning.”
