On Wednesday, July 9, 2008, Bill Jordan of WRAL-FM’s Bill & Sheri in the Morning helped with the net cutting during one of the many grand opening events at the new McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant at Crabtree Valley Mall.
This net cutting is a McCormick & Schmick’s tradition for opening new restaurants. Jordan was joined with other local stars including the recently crowned Miss North Carolina Amanda Watson, Crabtree Valley Mall General Manager Bobby Medlin, Raleigh city councilman Philip Isley, and the Hurricane’s mascot Stormy.

A large salmon was rolled in by the Carolina Roller Girls and then passed through the hands of all the net cutters. This was the last of the grand opening events before the official first day open to the public on Thursday, July 10.
McCormick & Schmick’s also held sneak-preview lunches and 2 cocktail parties prior to the grand opening.
