               The WRAL-TV Tower will turn into a giant Christmas tree on Mon, Dec 1st. | 
                  WRAL-TV is about to light up its corner of Raleigh for the holidays.                    The Big 5 will light its 300-foot television  tower for the 49th time on Monday, December 1st with a special celebration  sprinkled all through the evening newscasts.
Beginning the 5pm news hour, WRAL-TV Chief Meteorologist  will conduct the countdown live outside on the WRAL plaza while WRAL-TV Anchor  Bill Leslie appears from Studio A with The Capital City Girls Choir.  The musical guests will bring sounds of the  season to set the festive mood for the event.
WRAL-TV Anchor Debra Morgan will join Fishel outside to  throw the switch about 6:15pm to turn the tower into the area’s largest lighted  tree.
SKY 5 will capture the glow from on high.  WRAL.com will carry live streaming coverage  online and wireless subscribers can see the action on their portable  devices.  
“The WRAL Tower Lighting is an annual tradition that we all  look forward to,” said WRAL-TV Director of News Operations & Special  Projects Leesa Moore Craigie.  “It is our  gift to the community and a wonderful way to start the holiday season.  It  is truly one of those feel-good TV moments of which I’m proud to be a part.”
