MIX 101.5 Employees Continue to Help Backpack Buddies

Backpacks filled with food await the needy school children who wlil take them home for the weekend.

MIX 101.5 employees volunteer to stuff backpacks.

On Tuesday, December 16, 2008, a group of WRAL-FM employees spent an hour at the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle near downtown Raleigh. The MIX volunteers donated their time to stuff bag for the Backpack Buddies Program.

In August, MIX held a food drive for the program, collecting 7,116 pounds of food and almost $6,000 in monetary donations.

Some volunteers worked from noon to 1pm and another group from 4-5pm. Both groups working together stuffed a total of 175 bags.
