Cary Magazine recently announced the winners of their Fourth Annual Maggy Awards and several CBC entities topped the lists. WRAL-TV won all five TV categories, and MIX and the Durham Bulls made a good showing in their arenas.
WRAL-TV Sports Anchor Tom Suiter, who retired in December, got special recognition in the article to celebrate his 37 years at the station.
“Suiter wants to thank our readers for this Maggy Award and for choosing him every night for so many years,” writes Jennifer Buehrie Williams in her article about the Media Awards. “’It’s been a pleasure to come into people’s homes all these years,’ he said. ‘A lot of people have been very kind to me, and I appreciate it very much.’”
WRAL-TV won the top spots for Best TV Station, Best TV Meteorologist (Greg Fishel) and Best TV News Anchor (David Crabtree). A number of other anchors won Honorable Mentions.
The Durham Bulls took Best Local Baseball Team again this year. And Wolfpack Sports Marketing can celebrate several key wins for some of their teams.
