Team WRAL is sliding towards home for the 2009 Komen Race for the Cure. We are in sight of our goal of achieving our third year as the largest corporate team raising the most money, but the team needs help.
Team WRAL has over 300 enthusiastic members who are pumped to raise money for this great cause. Now we need help putting our fundraising over the top.
Team WRAL is urging our supporters to donate $5 and then ask 5 friends to donate $5. The Race for the Cure takes over Meredith College next Saturday, June 13th and Team WRAL needs to raise $15,000 more to meet their goal.
“Our friends at Komen tell us there are more uninsured women than ever. That means fewer women getting mammograms,” said WRAL-TV Creative Director Shelly Leslie, co-captain of Team WRAL. “We know prevention and early detection are the keys to avoiding and surviving breast cancer. So that’s what this is about. The money we raise stays right here to help women in our community get educated and get mammograms.”
