Beginning on Friday, August 21, 2009, local high school football games have a home on WMYT My TV12. Every Friday throughout the season a “My Game of the Week” will be chosen and that game will be filmed, edited and will air over the weekend on Sundays at 11:30am on My TV 12.

WMYT Game of the Week“We have partnered with Race City Management and Joe Cullen to have his folks produce the games for us each week” said Station Manager/Director of Sales Shawn Harris. “Each game will be a professional three camera shoot and will highlight some of the best in high school football in our area. The weekly match ups will be exciting and relevant to appeal to our entire viewing audience,” said Harris.

Another win for WMYT is the excitement this move is generating with clients. Account Executive, Moyne Brewton, has sold the Presenting Sponsor package to Coastal Federal Credit Union. “Coastal is so thrilled with their sponsorship that as part of their commitment they are setting up a $250 scholarship each week that will be awarded to each team’s Player of the Game. The money will be an honor in that student’s name to go into each school’s athletic or general fund scholarships,” said Brewton.

Local Sales Manager Matt Livoti added, “Coastal Federal Credit Union is a proud member of our community and with the economic pinch we are in they wanted to reach out to the schools and the kids and give back.” Livoti also commented that several other sponsorships for My Game of the Week will be closed soon.

Another exciting aspect for viewers will be that they also have the opportunity to watch the game on wmyt12.com each week and while online they will be able to look at previous games throughout the season. Stay tuned for more about this project as the season unfolds!
