The Cash Cow isn’t the only one celebrating green at FOX 50. The Durham CBC station recently won top honors for their e-cycling efforts at the Triangle Business Journal’s 2009 Green Awards luncheon.
The Triangle Business Journal honored FOX 50 with the Marketing Program of the Year at the October 23rd event. FOX 50 held their e-Cycling event on June 27, 2009, collecting 252 pallets, which amounted to 10 tractor trailer loads of 12,000 pounds of Ewaste. FOX 50 worked with a variety of recycling departments in the Triangle to make the event a success. FOX 50 collected items at three different shopping centers, one each in Raleigh, Durham and Cary.
“The items we collected didn’t end up in our landfills,” said FOX 50 Account Executive Shila Mallard. “It was a good feeling to do something for the environment and we plan to do this each year.”
