WRAL-TV weekend anchor Renee Chou and former WRAL anchor and current North Carolina Lottery drawing host Tina Seldin-Cash are among five prominent local personalities pairing with professional dancers for charity.
Chou and Seldin-Cash are joined by Billy Dukes from 94.7 FM WQDR, Scott Fiztgerald from 680 AM WPTF and NBC-17’s Bill Reh.
The local celebs will participate Sunday, April 25, 2010, in the “Dancing Like the Stars” competition during the Southern Women’s Show at the State Fairgrounds.
The competition is based on the popular TV show “Dancing With the Stars.”
“I’ve always had an interest in ballroom dancing – my parents have ballroom danced for ten years now – but never had the guts to try it,” Chou said.
Chou is learning the rumba.
You can check out more about the participants, their professional dance partners, watch video clips and vote for your favorite online at the Bubel/Aiken Foundation Web site.
This year’s judges are Mike Morse from G105, Mark Roberts, host of WRAL’s Brain Game and Dick Hensley, who won last year with partner Ruth Sheehan from The News and Observer.
All proceeds from the contest benefit the Bubel/Aiken Foundation, which was cofounded in 2003 by former American Idol alum and Raleigh native Clay Aiken. The nonprofit promotes the inclusion of children with disabilities in activities with children who are not disabled.
