Lip Dub FOX 50 (WRAZ-TV) has launched the first ever “FOX 50 Lip Dub Project” giving local high schools the chance to show off their creativity and possibly win one-of-three cash prizes including the grand prize of $10,000!

Inspired by the hit FOX 50 show Glee and the YouTube sensation, the “FOX 50 Lip Dub Project” is a fun and educational television and web competition for students and their schools. Students work together with teachers to conceive and produce a music video “lip syncing” the words of their selected song.

Adding to the excitement, the music video must be shot in one take with no editing allowed, other than inserting the music track over the video. Videos must be submitted online at www.FOX50.com by clicking on the “Lip Dub” link.

Following the entry period, viewers will have the chance to vote for their favorite high school Lip Dub video.

The top three local high schools that receive the most online votes will receive a grant donation for their school! The second place runner up will receive $2,500, the first place runner up will receive $5,000, and the high school with the most votes will win the grand prize, $10,000!

Win $10,000 for your High School“This project was designed with the goal of having students work together to create a music video that will require planning, practice and teamwork. It’s also a unique way for us to give back to the schools in our local communities” said Thomas Schenck, VP/GM of FOX 50. “The perfect match of being fun and educational at the same time.”

The entry period, which kicked off during Super Bowl 45 on FOX 50, goes until April 13. Online voting begins April 25 running for two weeks. The top 3 videos, determined by most online votes, will win $2,500 for 2nd place, $5,000 for 1st place and $10,000 for the grand prize winning high school.

The “FOX 50 Lip Dub Project” is open to all public and private high schools located within the following North Carolina counties: Chatham, Cumberland, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Halifax, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Moore, Nash, Orange, Person, Sampson, Vance, Wake, Warren, Wayne or Wilson.

The “FOX 50 Lip Dub Project” is sponsored by the Goodwill Community Foundation.
