From fashion to food to free stuff, MIX listeners turned out for a fabulous day. MIX 101.5’s 4th Annual Lipstick Luncheon took place at the Raleigh Marriott City Center in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, March 19, 2011.   The event sold out, hosting 550 women for a day of fun.

“Lipstick Luncheon has become a signature event for MIX that brings our key clients and core listeners together for a day of shopping, information and fun,” said WRAL-FM Vice President & General Manager Ardie Gregory.  “This year’s event was so successful we will be taking it to a larger venue next year.”

The event not only provided fun for the ladies who attended, but supported a good cause as well.  Proceeds from the Lipstick Luncheon benefitted The Rexhealthcare Foundation.

Celia Rivenbark

“What more could you want in a day?” said WRAL-FM Public Service Coordinator & Administrative Assistant Kay Riffle, who not only helped work on the event but then took a seat as an attendee.  “Author and humorist, Celia Rivenbark, lots of shopping opportunities and sampling, lunch, a Q&A session with local doctors about women’s issues, and an entertaining MIX Staff fashion show…put it all together and it was the 4th Annual MIX Lipstick Luncheon.”

The day included a light breakfast during registration and then kicked off with a panel of doctors from Rexhealthcare who talked about women’s health issues and answered audience questions.  Humor writer and columnist, North Carolina’s own Celia Rivenbark gave the keynote speech during lunch, and then MIX staffers walked the runway in fashions from Crabtree Valley Mall during dessert.

Guests mingled at a variety of information booths in the breaks between presentations, getting samples of everything from hand lotion to toilet paper to cupcakes.  Vendors shared information on colon health, women’s health issues, spa treatments and much more.

“The MIX staff and our sponsors did a phenomenal job coordinating the various events, focusing on our guests having a memorable day,” said Riffle.  “Their planning and efforts paid off in another very successful event.”
