Durham Bulls Brandon Guyer, Russ Canzler & Desmond Jennings have been selected to the International League All-Star Team.

The International League recently announced Bulls outfielder Brandon Guyer and infielder Russ Canzler were elected to the International League All-Star Team while outfielder Desmond Jennings was selected to the team. It is the first time any of these players have been named to the team. The International League will play the Pacific Coast League in the Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday, July 13th in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Guyer and Canzler are both rookies at the Triple-A level and both veterans of the Chicago Cubs organization having played at Double-A Tennessee last season. Guyer leads the Bulls with a .317 batting average (7th, IL) and 20 doubles (T-8th, IL). Guyer has 10 home runs, 44 RBI and 12 stolen bases on the year. He was one of the five players who came to the Rays organization in the deal which sent Matt Garza and Fernando Perez to the Cubs. Canzler, signed as a minor league free agent in the off-season, is batting .273 with 8 home runs and 42 RBI while also posting a team-high 20 doubles.

Jennings, widely recognized as the top prospect on the 2011 Durham team, is hitting .279 with a team-leading 54 runs scored (T-3rd, IL) and 15 stolen bases (T-8th, IL). He’s also chipped in 10 home runs, 14 doubles and 33 RBI.

Triple-A Baseball announced last week Bulls play-by-play man Neil Solondz will call the action from this year’s Triple-A All-Star Game live on the Triple-A All-Star Game Radio Network. Solondz is in his eighth season as the radio announcer for the Bulls.

The 2011 Triple-A All-Star Game will take place at Spring Mobile Ballpark in Salt Lake City, home of the Salt Lake Bees.

While the Game has been telecast nationally for most of its history, including every season since 1995, this will be the second time the Triple-A All-Star Game has aired on MLB Network following last year’s contest in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.

MLB Network is the ultimate television destination for baseball fans, featuring live games, original programming, highlights, and insights and analysis from the best in the business, including Bob Costas, Harold Reynolds, Al Leiter, and Peter Gammons. On January 1, 2009, MLB Network debuted with the largest launch in cable television history and is currently distributed in approximately 57 million homes throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico.
