Hundreds of potential models waited in line on Saturday July 9, 2011, at Livingstone College in Salisbury for a chance to walk the runway and possibly head to LA to meet Tyra Banks. Charlotte’s WJZY processed almost 200 girls who met the eligibility requirements for the casting call.
The show was looking for females between the ages of 18 and 27 who were at least 5’7” in height.
Each girl had up to 3 minutes in the taping room to go before our cameras, answer some interview questions and tell Tyra why they should be America’s Next Top Model.
Account Executive Lisa Clark secured Livingstone College as the location for the casting call and brought the college back to advertising on WJZY.
“This was a fantastic partnership for this event and the college was thrilled with the turnout and being able to showcase the school to potential students,” said Clark.
“We saw a lot of great girls with a lot of great talent and it was an exciting day,” said WJZY-TV Sales Promotion Manager Angela Golden. “We hope to see at least a few from our casting call make it further in the process,” said Golden.
Livingstone College is already asking about the next promotion they can be involved with on Charlotte’s WJZY.
