The Durham Bulls and University Kia of Durham have announced plans for Kids Day on Saturday, August 27, 2011, during the first game of a scheduled day/night doubleheader. Game two will take place at the regularly scheduled time of 7:05.
Kids Day begins with the 1:05pm game at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and ends with a post-game celebration at the University Kia Dealership located on the other side of the American Tobacco Complex’s south parking deck.
The day kicks off at noon when the gates open for the Bulls game against the cross-state rival Charlotte Knights at 1:05pm. All kids ages 12 & under will receive a voucher for a free lunch including hot dog, chips and soft drink, and the first 500 kids receive a free Durham Bulls cap at the gates.
Once inside, kids will be entertained with a spectacular magic show, have their face painted or get their own balloon animal made. All inflatable games inside of Wool E’s World in right field will also be made available free of charge for the kids. Kids have the option of participating in a pre-game parade on the field along with a special edition of Pepsi Kids Run the Bases after the game.
Then, head over to University Kia of Durham for a post-game celebration from 4pm until 6pm featuring free grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, chips, sodas and Rita’s Italian Ice, appearances by Durham Bulls Triple-A home run leader Chris Richard and mascot Wool E. Bull, and the chance to win a new 2012 Kia Sorento. Plus, 200 lucky seats will be selected from the 1 PM game to win any number of prizes and including…
