Capitol Broadcasting Co. President and Chief Executive Jim Goodmon was among four people named to the board of trustees of UNC-TV, North Carolina’s statewide public television network.
Gov. Beverly Perdue appointed Goodmon, whose term will run through May 2014.
Others named to the board are Sabrina Bengel of New Bern, a travel and tourism executive and a member of the North Carolina Travel & Tourism board; Rick Martinez of Hillsborough, news director for Curtis Media Group and a columnist for The News & Observer newspaper in Raleigh; and Robert Orr of Raleigh, executive director and senior counsel for the North Carolina Institute for Constitutional Law and former associate justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court.
House Speaker Thom Tillis appointed Orr, whose term runs through June 2013. Senate President Pro Tem Phil Berger appointed Martinez, whose term also runs through June 2013. The University of North Carolina Board of Governors appointed Bengel, whose term runs through June 2014.
