The lawn at American Tobacco became a make-shift hockey rink on Tuesday, October 4, 2011, as the Carolina Hurricanes visited for a season kick-off event. THINK ICE began at 9am and continued until the block of ice centerpiece melted.

Staffers and guests got a chance to shoot a puck at a block of ice to win prizes. Fans could also try to dislodge a THINK ICE coin from a block of ice for entry into the day’s grand prize drawing. Prizes included Canes tickets, a suite night at the Canes, autographed merchandise and more.

Stormy and members of the Storm Squad joined in the fun. The American Tobacco stop was one of five on the Canes tour before opening night at the RBC Center on Oct 7th against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The remaining Think Ice Events are:

  • Oct 6th – City Plaza (downtown Raleigh)
  • Oct 7th – RBC Center Front Lawn (Raleigh)
