WRAL-TV Gets Set to Light Tower for Holidays Tune in at 6pm on Thurs, Dec 1st
|
The WRAL-TV Tower glows for the 51st time after the lighting on Dec 1st, 2010. Join WRAL for the 2011 celebration on Thursday, Dec 1st. |
WRAL will light the transmission tower outside the WRAL-TV Studios, at 2619 Western Blvd. in Raleigh, Dec. 1, 2011, in an annual, holiday tradition that dates back more than half a century. Tune in to the newsast at 6pm to see the festivities live.
The annual event transforms the station’s tower into a 300-foot Christmas tree wrapped in more than 2,800 multi-colored lights. Three 5-foot stars adorn the top of the tower, which will glow nightly through New Year’s Day.
The tower is a beacon the holiday season for many. If you would like to join us for a behind-the-scenes tour during this year’s event, follow WRAL-TV on Facebook for details.
