Much like digital television stations are able to add digital sub-channels (For example WRAL TV-5 also broadcasts programming on WRAL channel 5.1), HD Radio technology allows radio broadcasters to add additional sub-channels to their existing signals. These additional signals can be received by using an HD Radio.
