CBC’s Charlotte division has further added to its stable of TV channels with the announcement of THIS TV http://www.thistv.com/ on channel 46.3 effective September 17, 2012.
THIS TV was the very first multicast station to air in the Charlotte DMA. It began on WBTV (Charlotte’s CBS affiliate) on channel 3.2 five years ago and aired there until just recently when WBTV was forced to drop it in lieu of Bounce TV.
Raycom, the parent company of WBTV, is a part owner in Bounce TV. WBTV had no choice but to drop THIS TV and put Bounce on in Charlotte.
While THIS TV will hit the air September 17 local spot insertion will begin October 1, just in time for 4th quarter buys
Viewers will also be happy at the return of THIS TV to the Charlotte market. WBTV and MGM, parent company of THIS TV, received hundreds of e-mails when THIS TV was taken off the air.
“We also received about 50 e-mails asking that we add THIS TV to our line-up,” said WJZY Vice President & General Manager Shawn Harris. “We like it when we can listen to our viewers!”
THIS TV will air on the cable systems of Charter, Comporium, AT&T and five other smaller systems effective immediately.
Effective 9/17 Charlotte’s complete channel lineup looks like this:
- 46.1 – CW46 WJZY
- 46.2 – Antenna TV (with local spots sold and inserted)
- 46.3 – THIS TV (with local spots sold and inserted)
- 46.4 – The Country Network
