MIX Partnering with Boys & Girls Club to Make Happy Holidays for Area Kids
Help with MIX’s Toy & Gift Drive and Virtual Angel Tree

MIX 101.5 is once again continuing our holiday tradition of collecting new toys for children in need!   This year, for the first time, MIX is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club for the Hope For The Holidays Toy & Gift Drive and Virtual Angel Tree.

Boys & Girls ClubThis wonderful organization offers young people a range of fun and educational after-school and evening activities. Local Clubs are open each day after school from 2:30 to 8:00 p.m.  They provide a positive and safe environment where young people can connect with trained and caring staff that will help them reach their goals.

Did you know that 90% of Boys & Girls Clubs members say they have earned a “B” or better since attending the Club or that there is there is a 100% high school graduation rate for members who have been spent four or more years at the Boys & Girls Clubs?  These clubs and their efforts make a DIRECT impact on the lives of thousands of children each year and we couldn’t be more happy having them as a partner!

So . . . what’s going on this year and how can MIX listeners help?

Hope For The Holidays Toy & Gift Drive
Toy & Gift DriveMIX 101.5 is lending Santa a helping hand once again this year!  Over 100 members of the local Boys & Girls Clubs have sent us their Christmas wish lists, and it’s our mission to give them a Christmas they’ll never forget.

Every Saturday and Sunday, November 24 – December 9, 2012, MIX will be on location at a different shopping center collecting new, unwrapped toys and gifts for children ages 5 – 18.

MIX 101.5 Virtual Angel Tree
Angel TreeListeners can go to wralfm.com and adopt a child on the ‘Virtual Angel Tree’.  Just like picking a tag from a ‘physical tree’ at your local mall, church or shopping center; listeners will be able to see the child’s name, age, clothing size and holiday wish list.

Once you choose a child, fill out the online Angel Adoption Form and the child will be removed from the website.  All new, unwrapped gifts must be turned in at the MIX 101.5 offices by 5pm on Friday, December 14.

Thanks in advance to all MIX 101.5 listeners for helping make Christmas special for many Triangle Boys & Girls Club members.

Thanks to WRAL-FM’s Jenny Clements for this capcom story & these capcom graphics.
