| A quartet from the General Assembly Chorus serenades WRAL-TV Anchor Debra Morgan as a Valentine’s Day surprise.

WRAL-TV Anchor Debra Morgan got a special surprise on Valentine’s Day.  A quartet from the General Assembly Chorus serenaded her during the afternoon news meeting.                  The gentleman sang two songs to thank Morgan for her community work with the Pretty in Pink Foundation.  She’s become a regular emceeing their spring concert the past several years.
Morgan will be on hand to emcee this year.  The Harmony, Hope & Healing Spring Concert benefitting Pretty in Pink featuring the General Assembly Chorus will take place on Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Cary Academy.  Check back on the Pretty in Pink calendar here for more details as they become available.
As a bit of CBC trivia, former legendary MIX 101.5 Personality Bob Inskeep was one of the singers.
“It was a great moment,” said WRAL-TV Executive Producer Kerwin Speight of the musical surprise.  “Debra had no knowledge. The quartet surprised Debra, who was in the afternoon meeting, and had no clue this was happening.”
Morgan is a prime example of the dedication WRAL and CBC have to our community.  She frequently volunteers her time for various events and causes, exemplifying the mission of CBC:
“We consider it both our privilege and responsibility to serve and enrich the communities in which we work and live. We develop and support significant community projects, creating partnerships that benefit the public and CBC. As a driving force in the community, we are a catalyst for positive change.” – From CBC’s Code of Ethics, created by CBC employees.
Thanks to WRAL-TV’s Kerwin Speight for this capcom scoop.
