Bulls Return Home for Weekend Showdown with Norfolk Two-Game Set Followed by 2013 ACC Baseball Championship at the DBAP |
The Durham Bulls return to the DBAP on Saturday, May 18, 2013, to play a short two game series against the division leading Norfolk Tides, Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. The quick homestand will be bookended by exciting collegiate baseball action as Duke hosts NC State at the DBAP May 16-18 and the 2013 ACC Baseball Championship returns to Downtown Durham May 22-26.
Wrapping up their 2013 slate of games at the DBAP, Duke University hosts rival NC State in a three game series beginning at 6:00pm on Thursday, May 16. The schools play again at 6:00pm on Friday, May 17 before concluding the series with a college/pro doubleheader on Saturday. The Wolfpack and Blue Devils play at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 18 before giving way to the Bulls and Tides later that night at 7:05pm. Separate tickets will be required for each game.
On Saturday, May 18, the Norfolk Tides return to Durham to continue their interdivision rivalry with the Bulls. The two teams currently sit atop the International League’s Southern Division, which looks to be a two-team race towards a title. Saturday’s 7:05pm game is presented by Sanofi US.
Minor League Baseball’s most famous mascot will celebrate his birthday on Sunday, May 19. Furry friends from sports teams and sponsors around the state, including Rameses from UNC, Mr. Wuf from NC State, and Stormy from the Carolina Hurricanes, will gather at the DBAP for Wool E. Bull’s annual birthday celebration, beginning at 5:05pm. Also on Sunday, Rising Sun Pools & Spas presents Swim Night for local swim clubs. Following the game, Kids Run the Bases thanks to Pepsi.
After the Bulls conclude their series with Norfolk and head out on the road, the DBAP will transition back to collegiate baseball as the 2013 ACC Baseball Championship begins on Wednesday, May 22. Full tournament passes and single-game tickets are on sale now.
