CBC’s Matheny Appointed to FCC Council

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has appointed CBC Vice President of Policy & Innovation Sam Matheny to the FCC’s Communications, Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council (CSRIC). The two-year appointment runs through March 2015.
The FCC selected Matheny from a distinguished list of candidates from the public and private sectors.
The CSRIC’s mission is to provide recommendations to the FCC to regarding the security and reliability of the Nation’s communications infrastructure. This includes telecommunications, media, and public safety. Matheny and the Council will be addressing issues such as the transition to the next generation of 911, emergency alerting and cybersecurity.
