Help MIX Feed Hungry Children
BackPack Buddies Food Drive Coming Wednesday, August 21st

Mark your calendars for the annual MIX 101.5 BackPack Buddies Food Drive on Wednesday, August 21, 2013. The children in our area who get free lunches at school oftentimes don’t have anything to eat over the weekend. So the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle stepped in to help, creating the BackPack Buddies program. Children in need receive a backpack of food to take home on Fridays. MIX 101.5 is once again stepping in to help fill those backpacks with healthy food.
MIX personalities will man donation locations at both Crabtree Valley Mall (in front of Macy’s) and Crossroads Plaza (in front of Old Navy), both in Raleigh, from 6am to 6pm on Wednesday, August 21st. Monetary donations will also be accepted online.
Items needed include:
- Meats and Stews
- Breakfast items
- Packaged Noodles
- Canned Vegetables and Fruit
- 100% Juice Boxes and Milk
- Healthy Snacks
*Please only bring shelf stable items.
Do not bring snacks such as Pop-Tarts or cookies, sugary cereals, candy, Spam or Vienna Sausage, soft-top applesauce, fruit or jello, or juice pouches.
In 2012, MIX raised over $65,000 for the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s BackPack Buddies program thanks to the generosity of our listeners and sponsors.
