Long-Time WRAL Director Shares Trip Back to Vietnam

Clarence Williams & Leonard Peebles

WRAL-TV’s Clarence Williams (left) & WRAL-TV’s Leonard Peebles are traveling back to Vietnam for the first time since their U.S. military service during the Vietnam War.

One week ago, WRAL-TV Director/Producer Clarence Williams left for Vietnam.  Williams is traveling with WRAL-TV G&A Assistant Leonard Peebles and CBC retiree Paul Pope.  All three men served in the military during Vietnam, and this will be the first time they’ve returned to the country since the war.

Williams is blogging about their experiences on WRAL.com during the trip.  He served as a paratrooper in Vietnam 44 years ago and says he hopes this trip back will offer some closure.  The 63-year-old is sharing photos and stories, blogging for WRAL.com throughout the trip.

Find out more about the trip and the reasons behind it, as well as the latest on their 13-day trip:
