Durham Workforce Development Board Honors Bulls

Business Partner of the Year Award

The Durham Workforce Development Board presented its Business Partner of the Year Award to the Durham Bulls Baseball Club on May 1, 2014.

On Thursday, May 1, 2014, the Durham Workforce Development Board presented its Business Partner of the Year Award to the Durham Bulls Baseball Club.  Capitol Sports Business Manager Rhonda Carlile accepted the honor on the Bulls’ behalf.

The Business Partner of the Year honor is awarded “for support of the Durham Career Center and commitment to workforce development.”

“This recognition was a direct result of DBBC Account Supervisor Theresa Stocking’s commitment to our recruitment goal of making the Bulls’ workforce reflective of the rich diversity of the community in which we reside,” explained Carlile.  “It was her energy and persistence and also that of the entire Bulls staff as they interviewed, hired and trained staff to be valuable contributors to the Bulls organization that made this happen.”

Carlile praised her co-workers at the Bulls for their hard work and dedication to serving the community and helping others.

“You all deserve credit for realizing that not only is a diverse workforce the right thing to do,” continued Carlile.  “It also brings numerous benefits to our company.  Theresa took the lead and the rest of our staff supported that effort.  Thank you.”
