Bulls Use ‘The Force’ to Raise $20K for Autism Society

Wool E. Bull and Darth VaderThe force was with the Durham Bulls on Sunday, May 4, 2014, on the ever-popular Star Wars Night at the ballpark.  One of the most anticipated promotions of the season, “May the Fourth be with you” featured Star Wars characters, R2-D2-themed jerseys and more.  Moe’s Southwest Grill presented the night.

“Our promotions staff really took this year’s Star Wars Night to a whole new level,” said Bulls General Manager Mike Birling.  “The national attention we received for the R2 D2 jerseys set the stage for this to be an incredible night and that is exactly how it turned out, with our 4th largest paid attendance in DBAP history.”

The game-worn jerseys, which garnered national acclaim when revealed in March, were available in a silent auction during the event, with all proceeds going to the Autism Society of North Carolina.
