WRAL’s Bill Leslie Set To Go Over the Edge

WRAL-TV Anchor Bill Leslie

WRAL-TV Anchor Bill Leslie will trade in the news desk to the roof of a 32-story building on Friday, October 3, 2014.  Leslie will join the ranks of his WRAL co-workers who have gone Over the Edge for Special Olympics NC.

Leslie says his former WRAL co-anchor convinced him to participate in the event.

“Kelcey Carlson talked me into it last year and promptly left for Minnesota!” said Leslie.

Part of his descent will be broadcast live during the Noon News and the entire rappel will be livestreamed on wral.com.  Several cameras will capture different angles of Leslie’s adventure.

He will rappel 32 stories down the Wells Fargo Capitol Center in the annual fundraiser for Special Olympics NC.  Several other WRAL personalities have taken the challenge in years past including Elizabeth Gardner, Ken Smith, Mandy Mitchell, and Carlson.

Leslie admits that the task feels daunting.

“I’m a little nervous,” he said.  “I’ve never done anything like this.  But I have faith in the folks putting it together.”

Tune in to WRAL-TV’s Noon News on Friday or go to wral.com to watch Leslie go Over the Edge.  Find out more and help Leslie meet his fundraising goal here.
