Upcoming Aloft Downtown Durham – Capitol Broadcasting Company

Construction on the new Aloft Downtown Durham hotel has reached the halfway point and to celebrate, the hotel held a “topping out” event on Monday, October 27, 2014. CBC President & CEO Jim Goodmon and American Tobacco Vice President of Real Estate Michael Goodmon both signed a steel beam which will become part of the new construction. The six-story hotel will boast 134 spacious, loft-like rooms with a variety of high-tech amenities, a Splash pool, bar, 24-hour gym and approximately 2,230 square feet of flexible meeting places for both business meetings and social gatherings. Scheduled to open in 2015, Aloft Downtown Durham is located between the Durham Performing Arts Center and the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The event took place at the Tobacco Road Sports Café in Diamond View II adjacent to the DBAP.
