American Tobacco has another award to add to its collection. American Underground won the honor for Economic Development for Existing Industry in the Triangle Business Journal’s 2015 Real Estate Awards.
“Since its inception in a basement-level office at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham, the American Underground’s entrepreneurial co-working space concept will have grown from just a handful of startup companies to a roster of 180 companies led by local entrepreneurs,” reads the awards profile in the January 30, 2015, print edition of the Triangle Business Journal. “American Underground’s entrepreneurial co-working concept was recognized for its job creation successes with the award for Economic Development for Existing Industry.”
TBJ presented awards in 30 categories on Thursday, January 29th, at Prestonwood Country Club, honoring the top deals and development projects of 2014. Awards were presented in “categories from the top-selling residential real estate agent teams in the region to the top new building projects for office, redevelopment, mixed-use and hospitality.”
