WRAL-TV and WRAL.com Win Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards

The Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) has honored Capitol Broadcasting Company’s WRAL-TV and CBC New Media Group with two regional Edward R. Murrow awards.  The awards recognize the best electronic journalism produced by radio, television and online news organizations around the world.

WRAL was honored in the Writing and Website categories:

Tar Heel Traveler and WRAL.comWRAL-TV News Director Rick Gall says, “Winning in the website category is really an acclamation of all the time and effort we put into our site on a daily basis. We’re tremendously proud of our work on the web and thrilled by this recognition. It’s also great to see Scott Mason honored for his writing, which is some of the finest in television news.”

We also take pride in the unique and in-depth reporting and interactive storytelling we offer on the website.”

RTDNA has been honoring outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow Awards since 1971. Murrow Award recipients demonstrate the spirit of excellence that Edward R. Murrow made a standard for the broadcast news profession.

WRAL competes in Region 8, which includes North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee and West Virginia.
