Free Event Outside DBAP to Feature Live Music, Kids Zone and Food Options
The 2015 ACC Baseball Championship FanFest presented by Quintiles will be held outside Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Friday, May 22 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, May 23 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The free two-day event held on Blackwell St. will be the official pre-game destination for fans.
On both days of the inaugural event, fans have the opportunity to enjoy face painting, balloon twisting and inflatables at the Wool E. Bull Kids Zone. Food options will be plentiful at the Dining Zone, which will feature food trucks, vendor carts and Moe’s, Only Burger and Which Wich restaurants. Additionally, fans can stop by the Entertainment Zone which will house a big screen TV, music and beverages.
On Friday, Chapel Hill-based band Liquid Pleasure will perform three different sets on the FanFest stage from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturday, Chris Overstreet, a Raleigh-based musician, will play two sets on the FanFest stage from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
Friday’s FanFest will precede that afternoon’s 3 p.m. first pitch between Clemson and North Carolina, and that night’s 7 p.m. game pitting NC State against Miami. Saturday’s FanFest will be a pre-game destination for all three games played that day, as Florida State and Louisville square off at 11 a.m., Notre Dame and Miami play at 3 p.m., and the tournament’s pool play culminates with NC State taking on Virginia at 7 p.m.
