Ducks and rain go together like peanut butter and jelly. So the rubber ducks in the Great American Tobacco Duck Race aren’t at all daunted by the wet weather forecast. FOX 50, American Tobacco, and the teams of ducks are determined to help the Ronald McDonald Houses of Raleigh and Durham!
WRAL-TV Reporter Julia Sims emceed the Duck Race for the first time in 2014.
“When I participated in the FOX 50 Family Fest last year, honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. I was blown away by the positive energy!” she said. “I’ve always had a soft spot for children who have challenges, particularly when it comes to health. Knowing that the proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House makes my heart feel good. If you’ve ever spent any time with folks who depend on the Ronald McDonald House, you know how worthwhile this is to these families and our community. That’s why I always tell my friends ‘grab a duck and help out!’”
