Due to the increased chance of heavy rain on Saturday, October 3rd, the FOX 50 Family Fest has been cancelled. But you can still support the Ronald McDonald Houses of Raleigh and Durham!
Ducks and rain go together like peanut butter and jelly. So the rubber ducks in the Great American Tobacco Duck Race aren’t at all daunted by the wet weather forecast. FOX 50, American Tobacco, and the teams of ducks are determined to help the Ronald McDonald Houses of Raleigh and Durham!
WRAL-TV Reporter Julia Sims emceed the Duck Race for the first time in 2014.
“When I participated in the FOX 50 Family Fest last year, honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. I was blown away by the positive energy!” she said. “I’ve always had a soft spot for children who have challenges, particularly when it comes to health. Knowing that the proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House makes my heart feel good. If you’ve ever spent any time with folks who depend on the Ronald McDonald House, you know how worthwhile this is to these families and our community. That’s why I always tell my friends ‘grab a duck and help out!’”
Due to the threat of widespread flooding and heavy rain, the FOX 50 Family Fest and Great American Tobacco Duck Race scheduled for this Saturday, October 3rd have been cancelled. However, FOX 50 and the event sponsors don’t want you to miss out on a chance to support the Ronald McDonald Houses of Raleigh and Durham and the families who need them.
Ducks are for sale online and at the Frontier Communications retail store at Northgate Mall in Durham, all area locations of Johnson Automotive, or by visiting Ronald McDonald House in Durham.
FOX 50 has a duckload of great prizes you can win. Help families through the Ronald McDonald House no matter how many inches of rain we get. It’s wet outside – the perfect time to get a duck!
