CBC Loans Piece to NC Museum of Art, Meet the Artist Event for Stamer

"Rummage" by Damian Stamer

“Rummage” by Damian Stamer is part of the CBC collection, usually on display at American Tobacco. CBC has loaned the painting to the NC Museum of Art for a special exhibition through September.

Capitol Broadcasting Company has long been a support of the arts in our community.  When CBC renovated our corporate headquarters several years ago, we began procuring a variety of contemporary artwork from the top North Carolina artists to display.

The collection includes pieces from Durham native Damian Stamer.  Stamer actually worked at the Durham Bulls as a seasonal employee when he was in school.

The North Carolina Museum of Art recently opened a new exhibit “Altered Land: Works by Damian Stamer and Greg Lindquist.”  The pieces will be on display through September 11, 2016.

On Friday night, April 22, 2016, the NMCA will host a free “Meet the Artist” event with Stamer and Lindquist.  From 6-8pm both artists will be on hand to talk about their inspiration and process behind the exhibition and their work.

One large painting in the exhibition, Stamer’s “Rummage’” is usually on display on the American Tobacco campus in Durham.  CBC loaned the piece to the NCMA for the exhibition.
