Bulls to Pay Tribute to Han Solo on Annual Star Wars Night
The Durham Bulls kick off a seven-game homestand on Friday, May 6, as the team welcomes the Norfolk Tides and Buffalo Bisons to the DBAP. The team’s annual Star Wars Night, Friday Night Fireworks and the season’s first Food Truck Fest highlight the event schedule.
At 7:05 p.m. on May 6, the Bulls open a three-game series against the Norfolk Tides. That night’s game, presented by Great Clips, will be followed with a Friday Night Fireworks show presented by bioMerieux.
On Saturday, May 7 the Bulls will celebrate Star Wars Night, as the team will pay tribute to Han Solo. That evening fans will have the opportunity to take photos and interact with their favorite Star Wars characters, including Chewbacca and Princess Leia. The Bulls will also be donning specially-designed Han Solo uniforms, with game-worn jerseys available in both in-game and online auctions, and all proceeds benefitting the Autism Society of North Carolina. Saturday’s 5:05 p.m. game against the Baltimore Orioles’ top affiliate is presented by BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina.
Durham wraps its series against the Tides at 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, May 8. That night’s contest is a Bully Busters Recognition Night, sponsored by ARS Rescue Rooter, in which students who received vouchers for taking the Bully Buster pledge can redeem those vouchers for tickets. Following Sunday’s game, which is presented by Bayer, Kids Run the Bases sponsored by Nature’s Twist.
In addition, fans can purchase a Mother’s Day ticket plan for $25 plus tax. The plan allows for mothers to partake in a pregame catch on the field with their children from 4-4:30 p.m., a two-hour all-you-can-eat buffet in the OnDeck Rooftop Picnic Area and postgame Mom and Kids Run the Bases.
On Monday, May 9 the Bulls open a four-game set against the Buffalo Bisons at 7:05 p.m. Durham squares off again against the Toronto Blue Jays’ Triple-A affiliate on Tuesday, May 10 at 7:05 p.m., with that evening’s contest presented by Northwestern Mutual.
The first DBAP Food Truck Fest of the season is on Wednesday, May 11 at 7:05 p.m., when eight locally-renowned food trucks will have their culinary treats available for purchase on the Diamond View concourse within Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The homestand concludes on Thursday, May 12 at 11:05 a.m. That day’s contest is Education Day, presented by BASF and the NC Science Olympiad.
