WCMC-FM/99.9 The Fan unveils new host and new reporter for the 2016-17 Carolina Hurricanes season
Carolina Hurricanes fans will hear two familiar voices when the 2016-17 season begins on 99.9 The Fan.
Morgan Patrick, host of the Canes’ pre- and post-game shows from 1999 to 2006, returns to that role. He will be joined on “The Stormfront” by the radio Voice of the Hurricanes Chuck Kaiton and on “The Aftermath” by the leading voice of the Canes TV broadcasts, John Forslund.
Coverage of the team on a day-to-day basis – on The Fan, Buzz Sports Radio and WRALSportsFan.com – will come from Adam Gold, current co-host of the The Fan’s afternoon drive show with Joe Ovies.
Gold will attend practices, write stories, opinion pieces for WRALsportsfan.com and be a part of the pre-game show.
Morgan Patrick says, “I’m excited to be reuniting with The Stormfront and The Aftermath on 99.9 The Fan. I look forward to working with some of the best in the business in Hall of Fame Radio Voice Chuck Kaiton, TV Play by Play Voice John Forslund, and 99.9 The Fan’s Adam Gold.”
Dennis Glasgow, Capitol Broadcasting sports radio operations manager and program director says, “This is an experienced and all-star lineup of voices that we have assembled that will add great perspective and allow Caniac Nation to enjoy not only a first-class game-night broadcast, but team updates on 99.9 The Fan and WRALsportsfan.com”.
The NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes season gets under way with the first of seven preseason games of the 2016-17 Season on the road, Monday, Sept. 26 against the Washington Capitals.
