Capitol Broadcasting Company has once again been named to the Triangle Business Journal’s list of Top 25 Healthiest Employers in the Triangle. Corp Vice President of Human Resources Angie Emerline accepted the 2016 honor on behalf of CBC at the awards luncheon on Wednesday, October 12th. The event took place at Kenan Stadium at UNC-Chapel Hill.
The Triangle Business Journal holds the 2016 Healthiest Employers of the Triangle Awards to “celebrate exemplary health and wellness benefits at local workplaces.” Entrants were ranked based on their wellness programs, compared to regional and national employers.
“We strive to help employees maintain a healthy lifestyle,” said Emerline. “Our program helps provide employees the information and means to achieving a healthier life. This benefits our employees in their overall wellbeing and helps the company keep health care costs affordable for all.”
“These winners have embraced wellness and have proactively shaped their company strategies,” said the TBJ of the honorees. “They have done so through assigning task forces, scheduling activity time, issuing employee benefits, doling out financial incentives, and, overall, by building strong wellness programs.”
At the luncheon, the order of the honorees was revealed. CBC ranked #15 on the list, up from #23 in 2015. The 2016 honor marks the fourth year in a row that CBC has been named a Healthiest Employer in the Triangle.
