Capitol Broadcasting Named to First Family Business Award Winners List by Triangle Business Journal

CBC logoOn Tuesday, October 25, 2016, Triangle Business Journal announced the winners of the publication’s inaugural Family Business Awards, and Capitol Broadcasting Company made the list.

According to the TBJ, these brand new awards “recognize family-owned, as well as closely held businesses, in the Triangle for overall excellence, innovation, ethics, philanthropy and contribution to the strength of the region.”

TBJ will present the awards at a dinner on Thursday, December 1st at the Prestonwood Country Club in Cary.  Winners will be recognized in a special edition of the TBJ to be released the following day.

Raleigh attorney the late A.J. Fletcher established Capitol Broadcasting with the launch of WRAL-AM in 1937.  The business has remained in the family, with Fletcher’s grandson, Jim Goodmon, currently at the helm as President & CEO.  Goodmon’s sons, Michael and Jimmy, both serve as Vice Presidents of the company in different divisions.
